Voitures So (Ambulances)

La SNCF comprend dans son parc de voitures voyageurs, 27 voitures type "So" VU 75 et VU 80, mise en service de 1976 à 1983. Ces voitures sont à double utilisation : Elles assurent la fonction de voitures sanitaire dans les trains de Pèlerins, mais peuvent également être utilisées en voiture "dortoir" pour l'acheminement de groupes de jeunes vacanciers. Non climatisées, elles sont toutes en gérance à Toulouse.

Alors que leur livrée était à base de vert, elles reçoivent depuis décembre 2001, à l'occasion de leur passage en révision, la livrée "nuit", bleu et blanche, avec porte peinte en bleu, à la façon des voitures AcBcux VU 84. Leur modernisation intérieure devrait débuter prochainement.
